It's just that it is quite a good picture. I understand now why you used pen and ink, because it is for a school newspaper.

    Ah, a 'Bain Marie'...
(apologies for the spelling, which is bound to be wrong!)

I guess you did a Google search on my name and found it?

Or do you actually know Willem Korevaar?

Closer to the former, not the latter. But basically, yes I googled your name and found a picture, which you obviously drew at school.
BTW Goodgle my name if you like, I have already tried it. There is nothing of interest.

That is not a bad picture you drew there, Roel. It had a message too.

Not bad, not bad at all. I have never been able to draw in my life, ever. My best skill is languages, which fortunately requires no artisitic skills.

Thanks Dave! Actually mine was done on a measly piece of A4, since my scanner won't take it bigger than that! Accounts for the lack of detail since I'm not good at the fiddly work. Brush-wise that is.

I cannot draw for my life, even my stick men resemble a stick insect that has been tortured to death by a three year old. I have recently (over the past year, that is) been painting 25mm high Lord of the Rings models. They're not that good, but I am always improving.

Once again my lack of scanner etc. means that you cannot see my models. Maybe soon.

S.O.E. You need to get a scanner. If your parents won't buy you one for Christmas, how about for your birthday?

It's nine months away, David! I wish that they would buy me one anyway because they love me.

S.O.E. I am sure that they do love you, and that the lack of a scanner, in no way reflects on their love for you. In fact, in my experience, expensive gifts from parents can sometimes be to compensate for a lack of love, and to salve their guilty conciences.
Are you old enough to go out and get a part time job? That way you could save enough to buy a scanner. Or if you get pocket money, you could put that aside to go towards it. Once you had got halfway there, you could always try approaching your parents to "broker a deal" perhaps?

That's good advice David. I will try it, let's see how much a scanner costs.
