I'm Rich Anderson, analyst and historian, author or co-author of: Hitler's Last Gamble Artillery Hell Cracking Hitler's Atlantic Wall I am currently working on a history if the development of the U.S. Armored Force, its doctrine, organiztion, and equipment, and how it affected the U.S. Army's wartime involvement. Other back-burner projects are the Battle of Mont Castre, an in-depth examination of the German forces in Ob. West c. 1 June 1944 (an expansion of my friend Niklas Zetterling's seminal work) and a companion volume on the Allied forces assembled for NEPTUNE. I am also interested in the American Civil War, military history in general, and many other subjects. Cheers!
A belated welcome, it's good to have you aboard sir, I'm really enjoying your posts about tanks and tank weaponary.
Hello and welcome - give me a shout (PM) if you'd like any research done at the National Archives - I already have a fair bit on Op Neptune Cheers Andy
Thanks Andy, I'm actually in the NCR although my job doesn't give me much time ant more to get to Archives II. If you haven't, you should ask to go through the records of OCMH and the research files for American Forces in Action and the Green Books. They are a treasure trove of first hand accounts, many of which have never been published.
Glad to have you around, Rich. For even further information, check out Hyperwar. It houses a great deal of information. It is operated by our own OpanaPointer.
I only copy France and Flanders 1940 stuff for myself. Anything else, I copy for other people to help fund my own addiction
Sorry, but "Archives II" is the U.S. National Archives. That pale imitation of Kew we Yanks think of as an archive. So very little on France and Flanders in 1940 are available there. Although I do have quite a few RAF records for France and Flanders I pulled at Kew when working on the BoB Database.
This is a banner day for ww2f.com - a first class interesting batch of new recruits. Nice. I am obviously trying to get the below fixed. (So in the meantime quoting me... I duz luv 2 Em Bare Ass myself...) FriedEd <===<-: (A Smiley that is about to Tie One On!)
