Greetings from HOT South Carolina. 105 heat index today!

I grew up watching old movies and series like Combat, Rat Patrol...etc., and so have always had an interest in WW2. Yes, I`m a bit older at 64 and so was anybody who watched those shows on TV.

Some years ago, I was at my in-laws house and just happened to see what appeared to be a model of a torpedo. When I picked it up I realized that it was made entirely of metal and was very heavy, obviously solid. It was mounted on a stand and very detailed. My wife`s step-father was a WW2 Army vet who fought in Italy and lost a finger there. He had 2 brothers with one being in the Navy and the other Army who was killed in action in Europe, I believe. This torpedo model was given to us after his passing and I`ve been wondering about it since then.

I`ll post pictures of it in the Militaria Section in a day or two with the hope that someone here knows a little more about it.
