My father served in the US Army Air Force from the summer of 1941 (before Pearl Harbor) until November of 1945. He was a crew chief/flight engineer in the Air Transport Command and spent the entire war flying gasoline between China and India, in support of the 15th and later the 20th Air Force. He told me a great deal about his experiences in his later years and I understood it pretty well, due to my reading and his articulate stories. I have written about several of them, to pass on to my children and grandchildren, in hopes that this very interesting bit of history will survive, within the family. I look forward to reading the material here, and sharing anything that I know, should it interest anyone.
