Read a while ago a book by Fred Hildebrandt originally published as " Einen bessern findst du nicht" in 1952.

The book tells of warfare in Poland, western front 1940, Russia, northern Finland and Russia again.

The author writes in "I did, I went..." form. Not much on the unit he serves on a larger scale. The author does not say anywhere whether the book is fact or fiction.

Anyone else got the book or knows of it. I quite liked it but would be interested to know if it is true or not.

It's one I've never heard of, Kai - I just checked on Bookfinder and can't find it there.... :(
