"Hitler is an easy scapegoat throughout history and it's been used cheaply," he said. Then he mentioned the S word. "Stalin has a complete other story. Not to paint him as a hero, but to tell a more factual representation. He fought the German war machine more than any person." Hitler? A scapegoat. Stalin? I can empathise. Oliver Stone stirs up history | Film | The Guardian
Well, the man can make entertaining if not accurate movies. Or at least that has been his record in the past. Entertaining, but far from history. He is (I think) just going for the bucks again, he doens't even try to make excuses anymore. He just like to stir up the crap and see what falls out of the pot.
OP.....does this post signal a branching out on your part? or is the movie going to reveal a Hitler/Stalin tie in to Pearl Harbor?
I can't stand anything by oliver (green-gap-teethed) stone. The last movie i watched that he had his socialist fingers into was: Platoon. I wonder when he is going to make the movie telling about his love-affair with wannabe Dictator-hugo chaves?
Well, you always have to create a storm to make bucks with your film. It seems Oliver is doing just that. I guess he will have a long laugh walking into the bank again...??
