I was reading an article recently that stated that the Dutch are becoming a nation of giants. Nobody knows exactly why, it wasn't that way a century ago. The average Dutch male is now 6ft 1in tall!
    I'm slightly below the American median at 5ft 9in (avg= 5ft 91/2in)
The American median height has been decreasing over the years likely due to the huge influx of Hispanics.
The Dutch are now on average the tallest people in the world. All the Scandanavian countries tend to be tall.
I'm not trying to make anyone feel inferior or superior as I don't think height has any real significance. I just find it interesting.

Well, one of our Dutch members is 6ft 4in IIRC...

Apparently (I read it somewhere!) the traditionally shorter ethnic groups from Aisa (Japanese etc) are growing in recent years due to a more 'Western' diet with more protein than the traditional Japanese cuisine.

    5ft 11 3/4 inches.

It is so precise because my childhood ambition was to get to 6ft. I never quite did, so I remember my exact hight with clarity! :D

191cm. And I know how to change that to feets and inches but refuse to do that.
Metrically challenged persons should learn to use SI-units too.

    191cm is roughly 6ft 3.

I was that guy claiming to be 6ft 4 but that was a miscalculation. I'm probably closer to 6ft 3, but I don't know my exact height, certainly not in Imperials! :D
Here in the Netherlands this makes me reasonably tall but not exceptionally so. There are plenty of people out there taller than me. It is funny however that I am often both the tallest and the youngest of a given group! :D

& I know how to change that in to the metric system, but refuse to do so.
Users of inferior measuring systems, should read this and weep.

I have used metric for most of my life, but when it somes to a person's height, I hate it! I'm not really able to imagine what 191cm looks like! :D

    Anyways, I'm 180 @ 6'2", or 184cm and 81 kilos for you, Notmi.

It appears that most tank enthusiats are quite tall. Interesting indeed.

I'm about 190 cm. The height in feet and inches is irrelevant, since no countries I know of use the imperial system anymore.
