If you were in the Battle of Dunkirk in WW2, how would you (seriously or humorously) escape Dunkirk, if you had to - by air/land/sea and why?

    I'd wait for a boat.

Since I'd be in a military unit, I'd do what I was told and hope I get rescued before I got killed or captured.

Remove my uniform for a start!
There are safety in numbers but also one would stand out as a target...so the decision is stay with the group or go alone...a row boat, canoe, or even just something that's floats...once your in the channel, you're too small a target for aircraft to bother with and away from the rifles on land...should get picked up, or a decent row other wise!
    Or
collect sufficient german uniforms...lets say 25 sets from dead bodies...dress some British in these and they pretend to "capture" a large group of soldiers ...get them to march with hands on head to a beach...wave off any aircraft or approaching Germans...and wait till dark.

Stay with my unit, first of all. From what I've read, discipline and cohesion in situations like that tend to enhance survival. Most of the combat units I looked at in the 50th Division stuck together and were evacuated as formed bodies.

Wait it out, then call up an uber

Realistically, there weren't many options other than staying with your unit and waiting for a boat.

IMO stupid question(no offense). In the miltary, you do EXACTLY what you are told. I know the new movie has you thinking and I saw it too, but you'd wait in line or do what you were told. As an infantry soldier myself (modern era) last thing I'd ever want is to cause the death of one of my battle brothers. I can die myself, but I couldn't live with that.
