It's just outside the tank museum at Bovington. Yes, on a bad day! Ironically we are inversely juxtaposed in relation to our rucksacks!!
Bovvy Churchill I knew it when it looked like this, I think it's the same tank. Errrrrrrrrr! perhaps not!!!! With that extra piece of ordnance sticking out of the co-drivers seat!
David's Churchill. That 'Lovely tank' as Richard described it is at Bovvy as you already know but further info is as follows. It was originally a Mk2, rescued from a swamp and originally displayed at the Museum of Army Transport, now closed.Subsequently gifted to us (Bovvy). At one stage some"enthusiast"?? tried to turn it into a Mark1 by wedging the barrel of a 77mm into the hull front to represent a 3inch howitzer but that will be removed when we locate a proper Besa mg. mount. Behind all that paint it is a very rusty old wreck! David Fletcher.Historian Tank Museum. I understand the Churchill in my pic is a Mk VII.
I thought it was the ex-Beverley Churchill: I lived ten minute's walk from the Army Transport Museum for six years. They had a wonderful collection of vehicles (including a Rhino, IIRC). Must find my photos from numerous trips and organise/ post them.
I think you've been patient enough now....here's one of me and small daughter....we're looking reasonably 'normal'
 You notice no make up as well, very brave of me. <tinkle, tinkle, tinkle>....is that the sound of illusions being shattered?
Thank you corpcasselbury on the daughter comment....unfortunately she know's she's cute and uses it to her full advantage.
mmm, normal is not part of my vocabulary ( according to my girls i'm very odd) and thanks for posting your pic, it is nice to see another member of this forum!!!!!
