It is the greatest presentation ever!!!! The quality is outstanding-and this time round, you can really get a feel for the guys and personalities involved. The special features are great as well-and I am still laughing at Damian Lewis' real accent (He plays Major Winters BTW)-he is so very English!!!! I highly recommend it as to be shot to the top of everyone's "Must Have DVDs" list...
Has anyone seen this series on a wide screen TV yet? I did and somehow it seems to take something away from the experience. The distinct ( I feel) "feel" of these series and SPR is gone. The films/series look like it is taped on video...it doesn't look like film anymore....Like I am watching a well made home video....I think I can see guys acting more instead of being taking in by the whole story... Anybody understand what I am talking about??? I liked the watching experience better on a 'normal' TV than on a wide screen one, is what I want to say, I guess...
Im waiting till January 11-12th to pass before I even think of getting serious on buying BoB on DVD--because im waiting to see if my militaria dealer from San Antonio is going to be there and see if he still has a mint Silver Infantry Assault Badge for sale at just $75.00. If not--then im buying the DVDs.
I got the DVD set for my birthday and I think its awesome. Now I finally pause it and check out the jagdpanthers and stugs.
The special features disk is also great-little things really... The sense of humour of the old members of E Coy 506th is tremendous...
I personally like the Nixon Diaries and the Making of Band of Brothers. Both document on how the actors bonded in boot camp and how all the stuff was created.
The diaries are great, Jet, you may be interested to know that that training ground is longmore in england, hampshire i think.
