I felt lousy all weekend, but it had nothing to do with coronavirus or the demon rum. On the other hand, I still feel happy.

Worked late night after visiting a dozen hospitals..but left the virus at the door...wife asleep...took couple rum shots and wished we had a pool to float away for good.

Boss Lady got two days off work with pay while her company sanitized the place after a worker was confirmed with the bug. Visiting nurse gets two days off. Not sure how long they can do that. Eventually we'll have to soldier on regardless of who drops around us.

In Europe it is two weeks because we are not sure how long it takes from getting the infektion to disease.

The two days I mentioned are to completely sanitize the facility. It's HUGE. They ship prescriptions via mail, people are depending on them.

My lifestyle has not changed one iota. I live in the middle of nowhere, go to town every ten days or so for groceries and spend my time walking around in the desert with my dog. There's old abandoned copper and turquoise mines just east of me in the New Mexico bootheel and I've taken to spelunking around for specimens of turquoise and azurite.

I recently learned of another area filled with old copper, molybdenum, lead and silver mines very close to my house in the Chiricahuas. Few people know about it, and it's rough trail up there, but I plan on exploring now that the weather has moderated and the snow is melting off. It's not mapped, but you can see several dozen tailings piles from Google Earth scattered around several mountainsides. The trick is to figure out which ones were copper. The geology that produces copper also produces the semi-precious stones I look for - turquoise, azurite, malachite and some other blue and green gems hard enough to take a polish. If you're lucky you can just find such gems it in the tailings piles, and at worst (though I hate to do it) you can go down in those dangerous old tunnels, find it in the walls and start hammering. They only wanted the copper and paid no attention to the associated minerals.

Has to have LEOs in it somewhere. Sean wouldn't like it otherwise.
