Just for curiosity, when I clicked the "Members" title on top I got a list of Mods and similar luminaries, as well as a list of members in the cooler.

Some of them look like they won a long ride ticket - I couldn't help chuckling at Ganja Warrior - but there are other members currently in the cooler who are not listed. Wasn't this listing supposed to be automatic?

Not that I'm too much concerned at all, just curious ;)

Za, I am not sure I entirely know what you mean when you say they are not listed?

Its possible that these are people who have been permanently banned from the site.

Maybe what I see is different from what you see being a Mod...

Who I see is: GanjaWarrior69; GoMBos; hafool123; PavlovArmada.

Ah, I was clicking on the Members List in the same bar as Quick Links, not the one at the top of the page.

Honestly, I have no idea why those are displayed there. Only the GroFaz knows!

Größter Feldherr Aller Zeiten -> Greatest Field General of All Time

An insulting name for Adolf Hitler and how we refer to Otto, with his blessing, of course.

The correct term is GröFaz, with the umlaut, but we can't always find that symbol.

If they are in the cooler it's because they belong there. They are mostly trolls

Jeff -- THanks for the explanation. I was mighty perplexed! As always, you have cast light on the subject.

    Cheers!

I didn't say they didn't, I was wondering about others who are in the cooler but not in the list.

Wow, lots of questions here, I'll get to them in order.

Za, I think you are referring to the "Show Groups" link at the bottom of the frontpage: World War II Forums - Show Groups , this shows people who's primary position is in the Cooler, meaning they won't get out unless I remove them. This is reserved for people that register multiple accounts with no explanation. I put them in the Cooler until they get back to me, which they have not done. People who have a short term stay, 10 or 20 days do not show up, as this is not their permanent status.

GroFaZ is a name that Peppy came up with for me. Slipdigit is correct in that it's inspired by the derogotary term for Hitler, but Peppy put a different spin on things. In a post about our Forums lingo Peppy describes the term (and me), thusly: "Größter Forumherr aller Zeiten = Greatest Forum Commander of All Time. This is the term Otto uses to describe himself as he struts around the WWII Forums."

Permanent residents will show up, but visitors don't. This is mostly to prevent people from getting painted in a bad way. The Cooler is considered a minor punishment, so when they get out all is forgotten.

    I hope that explains everything...

    Greatest is true.

So where does that leave the rest of us.

I'm not big enough to be Herr Meyer, of the Berlin hunting horn fame.
I'm not too good with propganda, nor do I have a mobility impediment.
I don't know how to fly and am unwilling to jump out a perfectly good airplane at night, in a hostile country.
I'm not involved in poultry farming anymore....oops....why don't we move on and ....

Yes it does. I had discovered two recent members were in the cooler and went to check up who else was and just became curious. I understand your explanation, it seems quite reasonable, no need for tar & feathers right out.

    Thanks!

Glad to help Miguel. I always like to answer questions like this, as I usually learn as much as you guy do when I have to explain it. :otto::_uhhh:
