For a small fee, I'd have let them use this one - it was made by Auto Ordnance ( but not their Chinese Division...)
saw a pre-screen, the flag is upside down intentionally (i won't give away the plot, but that character is kind of an awkward screw up) the pre-screen i saw had no vsual effects, a bunch of visual effects set ups blue screen but no final effects. i did notice that the made in china and rest of the writing on the gun there was painted out in post in the final, not sure why it went into the trailer :S i believe it premieres in march.. but the official public release isn't until Cannes next year
OK - I'll stop being unkind I've 'Googled' Pelletier and he's indeed a promising young Canadian director. This movie is being worked on now and is apparently being shot on a very limited budget ( which is no criticism - Spielberg started out using tiny budgets and made some brilliant early movies ). Great WWII movies such as 'A Walk In The Sun' and 'Long Days Dying' weren't exactly big-budget spectaculars. 'In The Hearts Of Men' will do the rounds of festivals such as Cannes and Sundance next year - let's hope it gets a decent general release ; I'll be watching out with interest......
