Hello, I am John and I am new to the site. I recently retired after 30+ years as an architectural historian with New York State. I now have time to do research that has been on my list for decades. I am very interested in trying to retrace my father’s steps in the U.S. Army during WWII. He entered service in August 1941 and served until November 1945. He was a power plant operator with Battery D, 451st AAA Bn. He would never talk about his service and now I am trying to piece it together. So that is my area of interest. I look forward to learning more about his unit and its service. Thanks
