Is this helmet genuine or repro

Hi all new to this forum
Have been offered this helmet but I’ve no idea whether it’s genuine

 

I wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot pole.

So I know for future helmets

 

SS and Red Cross should not be on the same helmet. The helmet shell is good. The rest? What maker is the chin strap? What marks are on the inner band? I would not but it is it is costly. $50 or so? No big deal. Buy it. More than that. No. Rich A. in Pa.

 

Skipper is the resident helmet expert. What he says goes.

 

I have to agree with Rich, decals are wrong, chinstrap is repro and the liner is hard to assess without better photos.
The shell appears to be genuine but there should also be a 2 or 3 letter stamp on the inner rim to indicate which company manufactured it.
If you can let me know what the letters are I might then be able to tell what branch of service the helmet was originally issued to.

Anything with SS runes attached to it always rings alarm bells for me!
