I got mocked on a FB group the other week because I mistook a Cromwell for a Comet.
Clearly there's still hope for me.

Sorry Steve, it was actually a mate who posted pics of a visit to an airfield museum on his timeline. He posted a pic of a Hurricane (I think?) with a Comet next to it, and I said "is that a Cromwell".
Two different folk corrected me. Got mocked mercilessly, since I can't even get them the right way round when I'm trying to relate it.

Now, when you say "Panther", do you mean the Ausf. A,
IWM Duxford? IIRC, they are "gate guardians".

I dunno...most AFVs have their own "shape"...they aren't as "sexy" as tanks so don't get the air time...so are usually new to me when I see them.

    Duxford? Definitely?

The Duxford Gate Guardian Comet has a totally spurious Census Number and is missing its turret rear box because someone decided to have a go at some pyrotechnics....no prizes for guessing what happened next.

The Duxford display Comet, in Hall Number 'can't remember off the top of my head' is marked up properly...in fact I 'reunited' that tank with a former crew member a few years ago.
