    wow very nice, my father was there bombarding iwo jima his ship is on the map for the ships bombardment stations, the USS STEMBEL DD644, he was the gun trainer in one of the 5 inch gun crews aboard the stembel, he told me he saw the marines raise the flag on mt suribachi, all the ships started blowing their horns when the flag went up.

    For what it's worth, three of battleship Arizona's guns were on Nevada for the invasion - they had been salvaged, refurbished, and then installed on Nevada after her D-Day Normandy support.
