Japanese Move Against British/Dutch/French territories, but NOT American....

Pearl Harbor, Midway, Guam, and/or the Phillipines are deliberately NOT attacked as the Japanese move South to take over the riches of Indonesia. British, Dutch, French, and Australian territories are bombed/ invaded.

Of course America is outraged, but....what do we do? How close would we come to actually declaring war and sending Americans in harm's way (and when)? When (if?) do you suppose we would actually declare war on the Japanese? What degree of provocation would push America over the edge to DEMAND going to war??
