Finding all the living vets with the Ritterkreuz maybe tough unless you are a member of the OdR.

whom are you looking for exactly ?

welcome to the fourms Dino !

Erichs correct--a complete listing of living RKTs will be hard to get unless you have dealings with the ODR--and im not 100% positive that they have an exact list. As of this year though--I think the number of living RKTs could possible be around 800-850? not positive.

    Welcome to the forums Dino.

Can only add to what Carl and Erich have already said, the only organisation to have an almost up to date list of surviving Ritterkreuztrager is the OdR.

Although not all surviving RKT's are members of the organisation, the OdR does keep records of all those who won the award.

If you are interested in anyone in particular i'm sure that between Carl,Erich, myself and others on the Forum we will be able to tell you if they are still alive.

Actually I am looking for any of the top Luftwaffe Aces who are still alive. Just got back a nice signed photo of Erich Rudorffer. Nice gentleman. I may have spelled Erich`s name wrong, if so sorry. Thanks for any helping find who remaining Luft aces are left.

    Thanks,
    Dino

You are aware that Günther Rall does frequent the large state of California at least twice a year. He does symposiums or guest appearances at major aviation art shops or at least he used to.
Walter Schuck is still alive but remains a private man.
Ernst-wilhelm Reinert has been up and down with his health so I cannot say how the guy is really doing.
I think Günther Schack still may be with us.
Gerhard Thyben was doing well last time I heard.
Walter Wolfrum I am not sure about. He signed a nice print for the Crandall's or was it a book plate for a book ? This was about 6 years ago.
    alfred Grislawski still remains active.

sorry to say I have really shyed away from some of the top scoring aces as I am most interested in the lower scoring and most active of the pilots.
