Some of you might know the list I started over on WAF a few years ago. I was asked if I wouldn't mind sharing it here.

I started this list when I was researching living Recipients of the Knight's Cross and realized there was none.
This list is now based upon numerous contributions by others.

I will monitor the entries & try to keep this first post updated as revisions are posted. Any corrections / updates / revisions are greatly appreciated.

Yes, sadly it is. The list has been fluctuating up and down. Sometimes we remove one, add one, etc..... but eventually we will hit the point where it will only go down.

It's sad, but time waits for no man. The hardest part is having to remove the name from someone who you have had the good fortune of having a relationship with. That's a tough one.

I hadn't heard that, but it would not be out of the question. He is after all 92 and I don't think his health is very good.

interesting been in contact with Paul for years getting one of his last victories straightened out that the text books have had all wrong.

he has lost touch with many writing him now, only for those that have made personal appointments, of course he has his own bio written up in book fashion so what a great selling point for him for those that wish a small short visit at his place of residence.

    very kind man

That's the sad thing. They still get so many letters, yet they also get older and it becomes more difficult to write and answer them all.

I actually stopped writing to all but a few that I have developed a good relationship with because I know how hard it is for them. We should all live as long and productive lives as these honorable soldiers.

    Hi
it is interesting for me to find out Karl Feldt is still alive. I got this bunch of photos taken during WW II and one of them is Karl Feldt receiving his Knight Cross. A superb photo with the Kriegsmarine cachet on back. (I am selling these on ebay these days).
Please, could anybody help me identify a few pilots too? I have afew of them and certainly one of them is also recipient of Knight Cross (70 victories mentioned on his plane rudder - and a Knight's Cross too!)

Wilhelm Moritz has passed away and should be stricken from the list.

Sorry, I stumbled across this list by accident and thought you should know that my Grandfather has passed.
