Carl, you are rapidly enlarging your collection!

I believe I read a few weeks ago you bought also a gold wound medal. I think you already have a black one. Now it's time for the wound badge 20 July 44!

Some time ago I already found the listing you gave me in the last forum discussion. When I find a new interesting dealer I will post it here. From another source I learnt about a dealer called Mundo. They have a stand at the militaria fait I am going to visit next week. Their website is: http://www.mundomilitaria.de.

I wonder to what extent you can negotiate about the prices with the internet dealers. At the militaria fairs in Antwerpen I have some mixed experiences with that.

I also noticed that the site of Detlev Niemann attracts very much buyers. In the last for weeks I tried to buy items from him twice. The items were new on Friday. Fot the first item I sent an order on sunday evening. Too late! Two weeks later I orderded a new item on saturday evening. Too late again. Now I am sitting hebind my computer every friday afternoon so that I will among the first to see the new items.

At this moment I wait with buying itmes till the fair next week. Although I will keep my eyes open for a good photo album.

Besides german items I am also interested in NSB itmes. This was the national socialist party in Holland. I do not see them often on fairs or at internet.

    Hello Volkbert.

In order to even attempt to be able to get anything from Detlev these days--you will have to place an order right after his fridays updates. Its now been almost 3 months since I was able to get anything from him. Detlev is so popular that I dont even attempt to look at his updates and I go elsewhere.

I wish I could get a 20th july wound badge--and if one was available--it would probably sell for in excess of $25,000.

The Silver wound badge is a nice one--I bought it for $40.00 from a German friend of mine. The gold one I paid $145.00 for it.

Just last night, I finally got in my Flandern Cross with mini Flandern Cross. Im currently waiting for my Silver Close Combat Spange, my 1870 EK2 from Weitze, and I think that will be all I get for awhile because of my current financial situation. :( :(

    Carl,

Last night I tried some dealers of the list you gave me. A lot of links do not exist anymore. But I only checked the A so I have some time to go.

Great you learnt about Mundo. I think their medals are well priced but their photo albums are a bit expensive. :(

I always thought the close combat clasp was an invention of the Third Reich but now I see you bought an older one. Do you also have one of WWII?

Hello Volkbert--the Dealers list is an old site--been around for more than a few years. Happily--most of the sites listed in it are still there. Ive never tried all of them myself--as alot of them arent in my area of collecting--though I have tried some of those as well--just to see what they had for sale.

Detlev, Weitze and others are listed on the site, as well as Der Rittmeister and many other good ones.

The Silver Close Combat Spange im getting is a 1957 ccc, which has all the same qualities as the ww2 one but no swaz. I bought if it for $12.00. I dont have one from ww2 yet--but will get some of those too when my financial situation gets better.

Now I know why Carl can't afford a computer... he expends all his money in militaria... :D :D

But it's a VERY good expense, anyway! Gratuliere!

the sadface is because you HAVE to pay for service through them for three years in order to get the computer for $100.00--otherwise--if you quit their service at anytime--you will then have to pay full price for the computer system. The one im looking at is at $1,400.00.

    Carl,
If you don't have a computer how can you participate at the this forum and browse the internet for militaria?

This friday afternoon/evening around 18:00 o'clock I ordered two items at Niemann. Too late again! One day I go to his place at Hamburg on Friday morning so I see the things before they are placed on the internet. I think it's the only possible way to be on time.

Hello Volkbert/Friedrich: Yep--you have to be online the instant Detlev does his updates or you will not be able to get anything. This is my reason why I am buying from Baldes, Winkler and Weitze these days.
