    SHERWOOD,OHIO - Leo J. Baden, 87, of Sherwood, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, at Harborside Healthcare Northwestern Ohio-Bryan, where he had been a resident.
    Born June 3, 1920, in Defiance County, to Olga (Heisler) and Henry Baden, he married Shirley E. Prentice on Oct. 29, 1943, at Fort Wayne, Ind., and she preceded him in death on April 8, 2001. A 1938 graduate of Sherwood High School, he was a World War II Army veteran.
    Mr. Baden was a self-employed farmer with his brother Albert for many years, and was a truck driver with Central Transport for 30 years, retiring in 1982.
    He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Sherwood and the Sherwood VFW Post 5665. A resident of Sherwood for more than 60 years, he had served on the Sherwood Village Council. Surviving are his son, Mark (and wife, Pat) Baden of Sherwood; a grandson, Shawn Baden of Dayton; and a brother, Albert Baden of Bryan.
    In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
    Visitation will be Friday from noon until 2 p.m. in the Burr Funeral Home, Sherwood. Memorial services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Robert D. Eble to officiate. Private interment will be made in Sherwood Cemetery.
    Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church Building Fund, 09088 Openlander Road, Sherwood.
