I was looking for information about causualties in Iraq, and I had a little trouble finding the thread in which a few helpful members had posted some great links on the subject. Since the WWIN links database is down I decided to create a thread here that had some of the better links available. All non-WWII military sites are fair game, please post suggestions if you like, and I'll edit post # 2 in this thread with the new links as I get them. Also, please inform me of dead/broken links, as sometime websites move pages around.

Sorry Historian I know it's been a *while* since you posted, but I just wanted to respond to why I haven't added these links to my link list.

I'm not a big fan of ring sites, as I never know what kind of links they have, some are downright ridiculous. As well, I didn't want to include any commercial sites (the militaria one) either. My though was to have just a few non-WWII related military links with lots of impirical info there.

I added another couple useful links too...

Hi Otto, I found a great list on casualties sometime ago in the strangest of places. I was on the official White Star Line website - looking up info about the Titanic and stumbled across a link posted I think on thier site, on on a link that I entered on their site only to go to that other sites links page. Anyway, if I can remember to go check their site out again, i'll see if I can find it and post it here.

All i can say about this is that you must be very careful when you look that stuff up on yahoo!
last nite, i typed in 'iraq war pictures'...i was greeted by a woman menstruating and a US soldier missing his face courtesy of bullets! Im a police officer but that is ridiculous

War of 1812 (personal note - as with most wars there are two viewpoints: the Canadians thought they won, and the Americans thought they did. Either way, aside from the Fenian Raids 1866-1870 its been been nearly 200 years since our countries met against each other in armed conflict. That, sadly, can't be said of the relations between many sovereign countries.)

    The Antebellum United States Navy
Described by the Naval Historical Center staff as "an amazing amount of raw data", this site provides "nuts and bolts" information about the USN between the War of 1812 and the American Civil War.
