Can anybody give me a list of reasonably well-made WWII games for the Playstation 2? All I can think of right now is MOH: Frontline and MOH: Rising Sun. But of course, I'm brain dead after trying to think of all the reasons for the Civil War...

Panzerfront, tank simulation game. Pretty good, nice selection of U.S., British, Russian and German tanks.

The classic Panzer General strategy game. If you need good graphics forget this one, it's a glorified board game but very challenging. Also, Allied General. Both take you through the war in various campaigns from the German and Allied persepectives.

    Hi Ike,
I swear by MOH Underground, and the original MOH.
Haven't tried any of the newer ones yet, unfortunately.
    Regards,

Historian, MOH: Frontline is one of the best games I've ever played and I highly recommend it. (especially if you know the code for the secret paintball video)

Patterson, is that game for PS2?

Mussolini, I wish I could answer your question about Rising Sun, but I haven't played it yet. I was going to ask other poeople...anybody know?

In my collection I have MOH, MOH Underground, Panzer Front and Hidden & Dangerous (all for PS1). MOH & MOHU are great 1st person shooters (the later ones on PS2 are better still) though I think that H&D is better on the PC (very pedestrian on PS1). My favourite of the lot has to be Panzer Front, the tanks are well rendered and recognisable, the terrain is well thought out, you can refight some of the classic tank battles of the war and see if your tactics are better than the commanders of the time and you can make the game as easy or as hard as you wish. Plus you soon know if you haven't done your recce properly - that instant replay when you get drilled by an unseen opponent can be a real choker! [IMG]

MOH:Frontline..and good game, should never be used in the same sentance. Ugh..It is so uber unrealistic and just overall bad. To Arcady. Im pretty sure Call of Duty is making its way to all consoles soon.

I cant speak for Frontline, but the other MOH games for PS2 and PC are pretty realistic if you ask me. The way the ground shakes disrupting your aim when a shell explodes, enemy soldiers ducking and using cover and popping off shots at you, and the gun models, sounds, and accuracy i found were pretty realistic.

Call of Duty is indeed better then MOH in my opinion - puts you in the shoes of 3 different soldiers in different theatres. Guns, sounds, etc etc are all great and realistic, but the AI is a hundred times better. They actually fight with you (members in your squad) and they do it pretty well. IMHO.
