Looking to make sure I'm not about to mutilate a rare uniform piece

    Hey guys!

I recently snagged a (presumably) WWII vintage USAAF B9 parka. I bought the jacket with the intent to wear it, but the opossum skin hood is sadly falling apart. I've looked into preserving the original fur but it's too far gone and needs to be replaced by a furrier.

Wearing and repairing a dime a dozen surplus jacket is no biggie, but it would be a different story if it was rare or valuable. I'm brand new to this hobby and I'm frankly lost on whether it's a noteworthy piece, or if it's even authentic at all. They do make repros of this jacket, and although I don't see any of the telltale signs, I'm absolutely not an expert.

Thanks guys! I've attached a few pics!
