I am refering to the book, not Jackson's visual interpretation.
Samwise the Stouthearted comes to mind.
That is 100% correct!
Who or what is 'The White Face'?
lol david i thought you meant the movie..
Questions from the movies count as well.
Was as it Saruman?
Is it Gollum's name for the moon?
Yup.Sure is.How'd you guess?
I seemed to remember some Orcs with white painted faces on their shields, so I guessed Saruman. When that was wrong, I thought it must be white faced in another context. And Gollum's expressions for the sun & moon came to mind.
Who grants whom "A year & a days free passage through Gondor"?
I have no clue.Aragorn to former enemies perhaps?
No, & No.
It's in the Two Towers.
Denethor to Gandalf?
No & No.
You are narrowing down the field!
I must admit that I'm stumped at this time.
Although not easy, it's quite logical, and in no way a trick question. I'm confident that you'll get it soon. Once you get one of the two, the other will shortly follow I'm sure.
A blind guess:
Faramir to Frodo?
Ossian steals the correct answer from under Sturm's nose!
Well, I'll rest on my laurels. My knowledge of LOTR is pretty hazy -- read the books but only seen the first movie (plus that g*d-awful cartoon version!). Having said that, I listen to the radio version (all 13 hours) regularly.
Pseudo-question to open the quiz up:
What were JRRT's first names (in full)?
