I am looking for descendants or member of Lucien Dumais' family. The article below indicate what he did during the war Merci, Dumais made no pretence at working as the mortician his Paris papers said he was; he traveled extensivelt and let the story grow in his neigorhood hat he was a successful black-market operator. LaBrosse appeared to be eery inch the dutiful salesman. He moved about picking houses known to be safe for his radio opertaion and exchangin coded messages with London. As they had surmised, the season was busy. The air war over the Continent was reaching its peak of violence; ever-increasing numbers of crewmen from crippled bomber were parachuting down all over France. Typical was Lt. William Spinning, a bomber pilot from Birmingam, Michigan, who dropped into north -central France. Bewildered, alone, knowing that any second he might be spotted and shot, he spent days and nights hiding and walking, scavenging cabbages from farms. Once he was given a meal by a hugh woodcutter who wept as he watched him eat, then wrapped him in his own worn jacket, and pointed him toward spain. He experienced a torrential rain and a feverish illness, but at last he saw two men beckoning to him from a field. They gave him hot food and drink, hid him in a war farmhouse, told him to wait. Through Lieutenatn Spinning didn't konw it, the Shelburne Line

Hello, my name is Catherine and I believe Lucien Dumais was my "Grand Uncle" - my grandmother, Pauline Dumais Howill's, brother. Pauline passed away last year, January 2015 at age 96. I see this post is a few years old, fingers crossed I can still connect with you all! Catherine
Hello Catherine, if you don't get a reply, let us know, we can send emails to let people know you're trying to get in touch .
Hi, I've been researching and writing a book about some B-24 crew members shot down on January 7, 1944 who evaded capture through Shelburn. I've done some interviews on the ground with some of the French helpers in the line, and the British MGB crew who rescued them from Brittany, but would very much like to connect with the Dumais and LaBrosse families, and anyone else connected to the line. Please feel free to message me. Many thanks, Heather
Do his children Live in the US or Canada. I am writing a book about my father's evasion in France. Mr. Dumais is part of this story.
