My dad picked this up in a surplus store in '59. I was wondering if anyone could expound on the markings, as I can't find much on them elsewhere on the forum, unless I'm missing something. Thanks in advance!

Since there is no vertical with line on the rear of the helmet to denote an officer this could be an M1 reissued in Canada? M1 where adopted and reissued by Canada as standard in 1960, a limited number had been in Canadian service since the Second World War.
