    Hi guys.

I’m new to the forum but not new to collecting.

I have acquired this deactivated Mauser P08 Commercial but I’m not sure of all its markings.

it’s not in the Mauser serial number database I found on line and even though it’s deactivated, I don’t recognise the, what I assume to be, a 1993 deactivation symbol.

Also underneath where you have the Serial of 3390 and the V, there’s a cross, I’ve seen this cross before but I can’t remember what it refers to.

Could anyone give me any more information about this amazing piece please?

    Thank you

    Courtney xx

I know the magazine isn't the right one as it's a 1938/39 Police one. Heres some more pics, I hope they help. All other visible numbers do match with 90.

From first glance this appears to be a "russian capture" P08. When taken into Soviet possession at or before the end of the war, captured German firearms were typically marked with an "X" (representing two crossed M91/30 Mosin rifles). Firearms underwent refurbishment and are often crudely reblued and have mistached parts.

Will have a close look at your photos tomorrow.
