Interesting news as Mein Kampf is going to be re-published during next year. Controversial decision, but from a history point of view very good decision. Denial won't erase away what happened. This is going to be very interesting as there is going to be included lot of other material in the book also. What are your thoughts about this, should this be left unpublished or not? "Dr Brechtken explains that the IfZ’s new critical edition sets the infamous writing in its correct historical context. It will be around 2,000 pages long, made up of academic articles and the original 748 pages that Adolf Hitler began writing in 1923." http://www.newsweek.com/mein-kampf-be-published-germany-first-time-1945-308296
I don't see it as controversial at all. The thing's been in pretty much constant publication in one form or another since written, just not officially created within Germany. German language editions are not even a slight rarity. The irony of someone being against any book's availability would be substantial in the context of studying authoritarian regimes:
I slogged my way through as a teenager. A terrible read on so many levels, but anyone serious about the European war should at least try to get trough it to understand Nazism and how they saw themselves.
I read it as well. Utter swill. Anybody who reads it on purpose as a way of understanding the thinking of Hitler needs to explain it to me. The only clear message was his deep-seated hatred of Jews.
What an outrage...we should gather in the town square and BURN every copy !...haha...of course it should be made available..Its a lousy read..but its an important lousy read...
Hitler wasnt a painter, artist, architect, or writer....now we know why he was such a bastard....frustration.....boo hoo Hitler.
Yes, guy was a sad loser who f****** up eventually everything he tried. Never read this though so thought that I'll give it a try, just because out of interest.
