Just a reminder boys and girls, that tomorrow (25 May 09) is Memorial Day. Thank a veteran for the sacrifices that were made to ensure that we are able to live our lives as we are able to do. If it weren't for veterans, and what they did to become veterans, we would live in a very differnet world, most probably a very unpleasant world at that. When you see a flag tomorrow, stop and think about what you have, say a prayer or your equivelent thereof, and be grateful that so many stood on the wall during uncertain and desparate times, stood fast and said "not on my watch." It's the least you can do....
Yesterday, (25th) was the inagural of the Yellowstone County Veterans Cemetary. Or rather the first Memorial Day since its completetion. This was an idea which finally came to fruition last summer, all veterans of any date can be intered there at their families request. Those already buried in any other cemetary in the county can be relocated to this one free of charge, and the graves are maintained by the local VFW and American Legion posts, also free of charge to the families. I don't know how many will take advantage of this, there are a couple hundred vets intered there now, and it is a very pleasant site, neat and clean. I don't know about other counties in Montana, but I believe the one west of Billings, in Laurel, is the only one (I could be wrong).
