My dad was assigned to the 2nd Signal Service Battalion in Warrenton, VA during WW2 and has a certificate of appreciation from the Military Intelligence Division War Department awarded him upon seperation.

Their are no patches on his uniform other than his rank Tec 5.

Can anyone tell me if their was a unit patch and what other items would have been appropriate to his uniform?

    Thanks

The edit feature seems to be having trouble so I'll add another reply.
I found this site which gives contact information for a Mr Ralph Taylor for the 2nd Signal Service Bn.Normandy Allies - Content
I'm having zero luck learning who this unit was attached to--they may have had their own patch or a division, corp army, or even a SHAEF patch.
Let me know what you find out. Dave

Pappa, have you rec'd any further info on the unit your grandfather was in? I'm very interested. Hopefully you're still part of this forum. Please let me know.
