    Are modern tank guns any use for indirect fire ?

    Lone Wolf, it would depend on the ammo they use. AP and HEAT rounds do not make a standard HE blast, though the old M60A3 had an azimuth indicator in the turret, and there were firing points in Korea where you would load an HE round, drive up a ramp, elevate the gun to X degrees, rotate the turret to Y azimuth, and let fly. This was as of 1988.
