I saw this one in a book and looked it up on the web. I thought the French only built ugly ducks. http://www.designation-systems.net/dusrm/app1/bq-1.html
That is one mombo ugly piece of work. Why make a purpose built plane to shepard the drones? Let alone an ugly one?
At home I have a book called The World's Worst Airplanes, and it sure contains some ugly fothermuckers!
I remember making an Airfix plastic kit of the Blohm & Voss when I was about 10. Wacky, indeed but for a recce aircraft...why not ?
An enemy aircraft could fly formation off it's left wing and the crew would not even notice. Some really fine pictues at this site: http://www.aeronautics.ru/archive/wwii/photos/gallery_005/page_03.htm
hehehehe...love the Caproni CA-60!! Wonder if that one ever took to the air and if it did, if it was managable for the pilot....
I did not know of this before but the Russians made a trainer version of the Me-163. I guess two pilots can get killed for the price of one. I guess the extra pilot left even less room for fuel and they had to launch it from the copied B-29. Text is Russian http://aircraft.host.sk/rocket/capture/capture_rocket_plane.htm
Not ugly, but even in the late 30's they were trying to build flying saucers. Makes you think they could have been successful and they are not telling us about it. I hope I don't get to see any, I have enough problems with the little green men trying to play bingo with me. http://aircraft.host.sk/temp/aeromobile_coanda.htm
