I saw this 12 guage pump at wal-mart its black and has a vented rib it only costs about 160, anyone know anything about them? I'm not too bad at skeet and there is doubtless places to do that here, also looking for a cheap 9mm automatic, cause I am going to get a permit to carry. its legal here. anyone got a reccomedation for a military 9mm that is reasonable?

The Maverick is a economy grade pump shotgun. They tend to be reliable but not all that nice looking and the fit & finish tends to be a little lacking compared to Remington and Winchesters. They perform well enough for general use.

9mm pistols can be a hard thing to get into. There so many brands and styles on the market, it's hard to choose. Since you are a re-enactor, give the Walther P-38 a look. If you want something smaller to carry, look at the S&W Chief Specials.
