This thread will contain screenshots and (possibly) downloadable maps custom created by Mussolini for the Combat Mission Series. There will also be descriptions along with each map, describing them in detail and what was hoped to be accomplished with each map. Some maps will be flagged with Testing Needed for which Mussolini will appreciate feedback. Comments on all maps and selected units are also welcome.

    (NOTE: *Treasure NOT Included)

    Install Instructions for the Maps:
    1. Download the ZIP file.
    2. Extract the .cme file into your SCENARIOS Folder (C:\\Program Files\CMBB\Scenarios)
    3. Launch the Game
    4. Start New Game
    5. Select Scenario name (Round1) to play

    Map #2:
    Finnish Delight
    TESTING NEEDED

Russian Attacking Finnish Troops that are dug in. Russian Forces divided by a River that has three Crossing point and 3 'Town' Areas. Towns include Objectives, as does the Vantage Point, overlooking the Town. The Finns have limited ATG capabilities and no Tanks. The Finns must hold on at all costs!

    Forces: Finland vs. Russia
    Scenario: Russian Assault

    Map #3: Trollville TESTING COMPLETED

A meeting engagement between German and Russian Forces as both try to secure Trollville. A key feature on this map is the River splitting the map in half. Trollville has already taken a heavy shelling from both sides and many buildings are already destroyed or are on fire.

The 3rd Map I have made (Trollville is its name) is so far the best. I'm getting more familiar with the Map Editor and how things work (homes cant be put on slopes, for instance) so my future maps should be pretty good. Currently play-testing Trollville with Otto (10+ Tanks, Company+ Infantry, so lots of troops) to tweak around with.

Will post more maps once I get home. Some of these will be used for the Tournament :)

EDIT: Also note that AI probably won't be the smartest in these maps. My Finnish Delight map, for instance, they kinda just...sit there for some reason.

I played the Round 1 game and noticed the following. At the end, the Germans lost more men but had total possession of the two minor flags and the major flag was in dual possession. The two Russian scout cars were destroyed but at the end it showed that both sides lost their scout cars. It counted it as a defeat for the Germans. Was it because of the losses? Other than that, the game itself played out well. though, the Russians seem more aggressive. They sure loved to throw them grenades. The Germans were more passive it seemed.

I think it depends on who plays as who, as the AI is scripted. Should be posting another scenario up today. Currently, my Trollville map (which I am playing with Otto on) is a complete bloodbath! Burning tanks, burning halftracks, fires, dead bodies! Heavy tank losses on both sides, with Infantry yet to engage each other, though the 5 crossing points all need to be captured!

Currently working on another large map. Axis Attacking Allies. Foggy, which limits site, trying to work some kinks out to make it an exciting map.

Make sure you join the social group! http://www.ww2f.com/groups/combat-mission-rogue-battalion.html

That way I can keep tabs on all those who have CMBB. :)

I'll bump the tourney thread and see who is all still interested. Then I'll get things started.

(PS: I heard that Alfie will be awarded to the winner - either as a Pet or a Meal, your choice.)

I just looked at the new map yesterday.

I see that the Russian T-34s were toned down, but I also see there was an endless supply of Panzerfausts and an anti tank gun added. I'm just wondering whether all the extra Panzerfausts were necessary to get a closer balance? The extra halftracks also make this quite a tedious setup exercise.

I don't want to sound critical, perhaps my opinion isn't very informed but all the extra units make this quite overwhelming.
