I have finally sorted out another Adrian shells batch .

These are both M-15 (WWI) and M-26 + M-31 (WW2) shells. There are 18 helmets. Several still have their original insignia. Condition goes fro mpoor to excellent and some models are actually quite rare. I like the "cachou" (mustard) m-15 cammo over the Horizon blue on one of them. Among those without insignia some of them still have the ghost of their former atribute which is clearly visible through a different shade of paint. It's fun to guess which insignia they once had.

    Enjoy.

it all depends on the helmet. Common insignias go for cheap depending on the condition (compare with the price of a UK helmet) . If you have a complete one +liner and chinstrap, prices will rocket up and now compare to U.S helmets . It's now getting harder to find rust shells with hardly any paint for less than ten euros. With common paint they reach 30 euros if not perforated and if you get a rare shade with insignia prices are getting out of hand. A chasseur insignia helmet is almost impossible to find so when I found one for 100 euros with dodgy paint, i bought it at once and put the insignia on another complete helmet which is now worth as much as a German helmet...... Other shells are still really affordable , if you are lucky and find them, but I'm getting tired of buying pieces of rust . I used to find one at almost any garage sale but , this year Ihave only seen 2 in an entire year and both were in such bad conditon or high price that Ididn't bother buying them.

I will let you guess which one of these two is worth quite a lot and which one is cheap (condtion, accessoiries, insignia, model, etc....)

Three more cleaned this month! I have posted a picture of "before and after" so you can see in what condition I find them . You will notice they are all three fist hand and were directly picked up from an attic. The horizon blue is still showing at several places before I even started the cleaning. The result is quite promissing. It's all a matter of gentleness and not traumatising whatever is left of the orignal paint.

They are much harder to get than the infantry ones, but its still possible. You hardly ever find a Chasseur or colonial infantry ones.

That's great collection, Skipper. You're sort of the Imelda Marcos of Adrian helmet collectors. I mean that in a good way, of course. ;)
