    like your comparision with the b/w pics in the book, what gorgeous weather you had WW, thanks for posting these. alas it burns my hiney those German Panzers in that bogus camo........ ah well

    Thanks for kind words , sorry I took a month to post them here.
    The "other place" is my real internet-home and it feels like too much repetetion to constantly double post items on both forums.

    Erich do you mean the Panther in bogus camo as the King Tiger is supposedly in accurate cam-scheme.
    As this article mentions camo schemes.

    Believe it or not but I have seen colour fotos of the Königstiger right after capture and placement, the heavy thing should be more rust red brown and green, the light colour tan is not correct. now to hunt that pic down from the hidden courses of the secret data files. Granted from what I remember the light for the shot was not from a bright sunny winter day.

    I think the Panther should be in the Autumn "Ambush" camo scheme but will have to re-check my sources

    Superb pics, WW - great weather too, makes me envious ! :eek:

    So glad to see that a memorial has been erected to the brave American gunners at Trois Ponts. I've stood several times in the little lay-by where that gun was sited and thought of their hopeless position, alone against the Leibstandarte.

    Theirs was a fine, brave action and should never be forgotten.
