A P.08, a metal detector find from the Normandy area, or so the dealer said. You can see where the spade went through the barrel. 1939 dated and mm'd.

Went to a gun show yesterday and saw a few German items, but grossly over priced. One helmet like you posted here...he wanted $500!

My latest, DAK officer oberleutnant and kompanie chief Gottfiried Muntau, spring 1941 picture, arrived today and already translated, all I need is to find out his unit?

    Thanks, Jerry

I just googled him and got this, From 15-Jul-1944 ?30-Dec-1944 he was with LVI Panzer Corps and he was the Ia, with the rank of Major

Muntau, Gottfried, 16.08.1942, Hptm., III./Schtz.Rgt. 115, he was awarded german cross in gold, as part of 15th panzer division. This from another google entry.

also awarded the Commendation Certificate of the Commander-in-Chief of the Army, on the 05.09.1942 (1181), Hptm., Btl.Fhr. I./Pz.Gren.Rgt. 115

A few recent pickups, a dak cap eagle (its the one at top right) and cockade and a postcard. The eagles are interesting as they are all different, with the brown on green backed early, and rarer type at top left, and brown on brown, bottom left, then the new one yellow on brown at top right. The post card is one of a series of 8.
I find it strange that the cockade is rare and is therefore worth as much as 2 or 3 of the eagles!
    Thanks, Jerry

A new purchase, still to arrive, Dak/trop heer sidecap, by Hans Brandt, dated november 42, part of the 'Beehive' find of unissued dak/trop and other caps from Austria in the 70's? At the time this cap would have cost $15USD!

    Thanks, Jerry

    Hi Erich,
I have avoided death cards, though I think they are very interesting and relate to an aspect of our hobby that maybe too many of us forget.
Also I'm spent out at the moment and I'm not working.

Hi Skipper, thanks about the spambot, but I am only partially aware of what you mean. I see you have deleted a post that as you said I saluted, it complimented my collection in a odd sort of way, or so I remember, so I assume that is what you are refering to? Wierd and at least it appeared benign. Maybe I'm showing my age and ignorance of what you meant, but thanks again.

A few additions, as I have not added any to this thread for a while.

A montage of my TR used piths, with the new addition, and 4 pics of my trop cloth collection with some new additions.

    Thanks, Jerry

Most of this has been posted in the 'any new additions' thread, but I am always trying to improve the presentation of my collection, with information on the pics.

    Thanks.

I was going to post some new additions, but it won't let me, even when I resized them down.

Have you tried to post them via a buffer site like photobucket or imageshack? Once they are downloaded there you can import the image link here within seconds.

Hi Sebastien and thanks. It's funny how many forums you see some of the same people on and you are one of those I am always glad to see.
