Hi guys, Today I was talking to my oldest family member about my great-grandfathers in WW2 and she was quite sure they were never fighting there. We are Slovak, but in the time they lived in a village which was a part of Hungary. Is it possible they werent recruited? They were 31 and 43 years old in 1939. If so, why they werent recruited? She vaguely remembered stories about her father hiding in an unfinished well, but she couldnt tell it was because of ww2. If so, didnt they have some list and didnt they take every man in this list? Thank you
....my grandfather-in law left Hungary in 1944, with his family ..he said he was in the Hungarian military in WW2....I wish I could've talked more with him about that ....Hungary is not a ''much talked about'' subject ....but it seems to be an interesting one in many ways...much political, ethnic, etc chaos/etc....at first, Germans and Hungarians victorious/etc.....then the Russians overrun Hungary ..a huge mess
