Those MGC replicas were very good - in the photos, the worn, 'parkerized' finish looks looks very similar to the real thing.

Thats a real Beaut mate-and at least yours can fire blanks, mine cant even fire air:-( I think ill do some looking around to see if i can find one like yours?

Also, ive had both my 1898 Krag Carbine and my 1935 made S-42-K-98 Sniper variant--both since 1997-and I have yet to fire either of them.

PS, please disregard my post to yu in that other thread about where yours is posted at ;-))

thanks Ray, ill look see. Also, I found a dealer who just impoprted (not sure from where?) a ship-load of Martini-Henry and other fine old british Rifles-as well as a slew of Webleys. Im thinking of venturing in that direction too as they were priced at wht i thought were decent prices. I also found a dealer with loads of Russian stuff too.

Just looked and i'd give my teeth-toi get one of their MG-42s. The MP-40 looks great as well ;-))

I still haven't found out of this deal is fully legal or not? i need to stop by an ATF office tomorrow-or soon, and start finding out about it ;-00 Also, if the trade deal happens? ill be "out" most of my german militaria-and i don't think i can part with that much of my collection at once.

that's the one thing i hate most in doing-is to rob Peter to pay Paul. I already did that in order to get my Cased 1957 RK/W/Oaks,Swords,Diamonds-spare Oaks and Spare Oaks/Swords. After this deal on these is complete (no thanks to UK customs) im going to be getting a Star of the iron cross and i have no idea how much that will set me back? These are more than super-ultra rare-i mean-almost non-existant. The guy im going to get one from has three-all came from men who retired from the BW. Hes holding one for me.

You probably have made a prediction for me and is probably 100% accurate too. Also, from this Gnt I will be getting both a Silver and a Gold DKiG. That's at least another $1,000.

Hi Ray, although I'm strongly against repros, I must admit this one is a great quality one and that iI suppose it's better to have it than none at all. Besides having a blank in Europe is the best way to have a legal manequin, so I guess I'll amend my opinion and send you my congratulations for your purchase.

£2000-2200 pounds skipper is good for mp40 to buy here, the worst mp40s to buy are the newer specs which you can pick up for several hundred pounds, but they have been de-activated too much and most is welded and does not operate,,so I'm not going there! but as I say £2000 is the average price and for nice pieces too,ray..
