I picked it from my wife's uncle who was a private collector in Germany when I was stationed in Schweinfurt back in the early 1970's. It is my prize piece. The Feldherrenhalle post card goes with it but got it from a different collector, just thought it was a nice touch. Wish I could get an authentic ribbon though. They are hard to come by. The medal is numbered 250 and was issued to Hartz, Herbert v., Bund Oberland, II.Bataillon, 8.Minenwerfer-Kompanie according to the following site... http://home.foni.net/~adelsforschung/blut.htm
    Thanks for the comments.

    Some info...

Blood Order - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In May 1938, to the dismay of the putsch participants, the award was extended to persons who had (a) served time in prison for Nazi activities before 1933, (b) received a death sentence which was later commuted to life imprisonment for Nazi activities before 1933, and (c) been severely wounded in the service of the Party before 1933. It could also be bestowed on certain other individuals at the discretion of Adolf Hitler, the last recipient being Reinhard Heydrich (posthumous). If a holder of this medal left the party, the medal would have to be relinquished. Two women received this award (one putsch participant and one posthumous outstanding service). Given the number of original marchers in the putsch, the number of posthumous awards given under the 1938 extensions (436), and the awards for outstanding service under those same extensions, the total number of recipients numbered less than 6,000.

It took a while to find who the original owner was. The list of recipients floats around here and there but never seems complete. I found that site while doing research on the medal.

It's a beautiful cup & saucer. It's for sale if anyone is interested. Unfortunately I am getting older and am afraid my heirs do not appreciate my collection as I do, so I will be selling it off before they get a chance to....hehehe. Some things need to be owned AND appreciated for their historical value not just their monetary worth. Ya know!
