If you want to see pics of this anytime soon? you will have to go to Andre Huesken site and find it there. Ill not actually have this one in for a few weeks yet but, this is a sweet fotoalbum. Skipper, if you have the time to go there and look for it? and feel like posting photos of it? please do so ;-))

As they say, that fotoalbum is my Christmas gift to myself ;-)) I don't have specific info on hand but, the album belonged to the commander of either an Artillerie Batterie or to an larger Arty unit. Anyway, you will like seeing these.

Hi E, and a Merry Christmas and a Happy (but frozen) New Years back atcha ;-)) Heh heh, many a thanks and, if one were to "step" into their first fotoalbum, this one SHOULD be the kind one gets on their first outing-and boy is it researchable :-D

Oh and, something will be headed your way after my Janusary (Houston to Austim move) recovery happens. I couldn't pass this one up though ;-))

whatever you do keep that fine piece of history at any price, these will be in our hands and lost forever unless we take care of them. I still research when time permits betweenst all the craziness of Family, my KM album on the Tsingtau member(s) serving in the Finnenbusen and elsewhere, more on this next year.

Hi E, I hear ya on that. Also, im in the midst of possibly obtaiing a real MP-40-which needs a part or two to be replaced in order to make it fire-so its not a deact. The stump on this is, im not sure if this possible trade is legal? I need to contact the ATF first to make sure it is a legal deal. The guy wants almost $25,000 for it in trade, and I don't know if I want to get rid of most of my collection for this or not?

On the album, I forgot to write down the item numbers and such before leaving my Bro-in-Laws and Sis's home-but I sent the details to Hucks if you want to ask him where it is? I am getting this from Andre Huesken and it should be here in a few weeks or less.

Also, hope to see you guys here at least once more before 2010.

    Take care-E--C.

NFA weapons, are considered to be machine guns, sound suppressors, destructive devices, short barreled rifles (rifles whose barrels do not exceed 16 inches in length or an overall length shorter than 26 inches), short barreled shotguns (in which barrel length is less than 18 inches), and "any other weapons."
We will now proceed to Class 3 weapons. Class 3 weapons
are normally referred to Title 2 classifications. The National Firearms act of 1934 prohibits the civilian population from purchasing, or owning a machine gun without Government approval. The Federal Government charges $200.00
US dollars for a tax stamp allowing the purchase of a firearm that
meets this criteria. You must be able to follow these instructions:
    1) Submit two sets of fingerprints and a current photo
    2) Swear that the firearm is of "reasonable necessity" and that
when you wish to sell the weapon, it be done so with what is
    "consistent with public safety ."
    3) A background investigation will also be performed at this time.
    4) A chief law enforcement official of the residential jurisdiction must
    sign off on the application.

Hi RR, thanks for the info and its a great help. I will have to contact the Sherriff of this County that Austin is in to see what he has to say? I don't know if this MP-40 deal will go through or not/ just depends on what the law says about having a real MP-40-even if somethings not working in it/ I know another guy that has one but don't know what he wants for it/ im sure that oen too is over the $24,000 grand mark.

Take care and thanks again for the info. if i can/ reps left for ya--Best regards-carl.

we've got to get you motivated with time to figure how to use your camera Carl, that way at least you can post some teasers for us instead of having to put everything on CD and send to whomever, yeah I know I need to do the same.

Happy Neu Jahre my friend !

Hi E, yup. My ID10T Brother left it outside in the rain-the day we loaded up our last piles of junk from the house in Houston. He was taking pictures of the yard and house sometime in the morning-and left my camera (unknownst to me) sitting on a brick window sill-went to go get garbage breakfast from McD's-totally forgetting about my camera) and then the rains started-getting much worse as the day progressed. I by accident, happened to be making a final check around the house-yard and such-and just happened to see something sitting on the windows ledge-which was my camera. God-I was so ticked. I grabbed my camera and tried to dry it off as best as I could and tried to test it and it was completely dead.

On a totally different subject, I will be getting 5 more pics one of which though not a great pic-is still VERY significant. Another also has something rarely seen even in WWII photos-whioch has to do with Russian PoWs.

Hi E, fully agree. He also is responsible for ruining my Nikon Advantix Camera-a few years ago. Im still awaiting for that one to be replaced too.
