Some people enjoyed my other thread, so I'll be starting to post my WW2 rifle and carbine collection in the same manner in which I presented my handguns. This should start in the next few weeks. I have a lot more long guns than handguns (20-30 if I recall correctly) so this thread will take much longer to get through. Until then, here's a teaser. Ignore the one gun that does not belong.
I think I'll finally get around to taking some photos this weekend. Well, I've had a few additions to the collection; an Egyptian FN-49 and a Czech VZ52/57. And I feel bad about this unintentional "teaser", so here's a couple photos of my M1D Garand to buy myself some time! Note the correct "open box" SA cartouche. There's a good deal of fake M1Ds out there. This one came out of Denmark in the 1980s and is - as far as I can tell - totally correct and authentic. The lack of a scope will soon be rectified.
That Johnson is impressive, looking forward to more photos. (Im aware that the above line is probably quite common on dating sites, but only realized this after typing it in.)
No photos yet (I'll take a shot at some outdoor winter photos of my Finnish pieces once we get some snow this winter), but as a quick update I've acquired two more pieces; a French Berthier mle 1916 rifle (a mle 1907/15 with a five round clip) and a Turkish Berthier "Forestry carbine". I hope you're happpy now, Terry! That's 4 firearms with Mannlicher-Berthier actions.
