I wrote this poem last fall after having seen City of Life and Death.

    Nanking

    One hundred Women,
    All volunteers

    Slaughtered,
    Tortured,
    Speared,
    Spared of death
    And injected
    All the same

    Simultaneous.

    A good soul
    Observes.
    A poor soul
    Lies tied.
    A normal soul
    Is not here.
    A sneaky soul
    Thrusts.

    And in the night
    A choke for tears
    A pray for dawn

That movie, sure inspires the emotions...You don't want to watch but have to. Its like watching a car crash...In my view it should be shown in all schools, as well as our own. In the days when Japan is re looking at its history, perhaps they should look at this.

    Good poem..on the ball..

Glad you share my emotions on the film urqh, the poem refers somewhat to the scene where the women are put into "relief stations" (exact phrasing?) for the Japanese soldiers in the city

The Rape Of Nanking was man at its worst. The world had to watch as these poor, isolated civilians endured the unspeakable.
I applaud movies like this. More needs to be explained about this forgotten Holocaust....

I wonder if this movie refers to Prince Asaka ?

I didn't know of this movie, but I agree that it should be shown in every school in Japan. It's available on Netflix, and it's #1 in my queue.
