I think this is going to be a long shot as I've hit road blocks everywhere. For whatever reason, I have an addiction to naval alerts. Whistles, claxon, GQ, etc. During my years of watching all different movies and documentaries I can't for the life of me figure out how to determine what alert means what on a ship. I'm not even sure I'm making sense, but if I am can someone point me to an information source?
These may help: http://www.marineinsight.com/marine-safety/different-types-of-alarms-on-ship/ http://www.ussvi.org/sounds.asp http://www.nj2bb.org/sounds.html https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alarms_on_submarines_of_the_United_States_Navy
I would also add to the list http://www.hnsa.org/resources/historic-naval-sound-and-video/calls/ and http://www.hnsa.org/resources/historic-naval-sound-and-video/pampanito/
