are you a brit cause that would explain why you want to know the names of the men in easy company 506th all the brits want to be 506th if your not thats good
As far as I know-Dick Winters will no longer reply to mail because I heard he was ailing. As for some of the others-they still reply. I don't have any of their addresses or i'd gladly send you a few.
Men of easy company It lists everyone who had been a member of the 506th 101st, but it is everyone, not only the men who were there from the begining, hope it helps some. Maybe you would notice some names of replacements and be able to scratch them, with the list you have you can put a dent in it and then just do individual searches on the remaining men
here is a easier list of the men left after i took off the ones who were at tocca, now you would have to search each men individually to see if they were original or replacements Aldrich James H. Fgrun , I realy appreciate all of your help , but I do not quiet understand what you mean...That list are people who werent at Toccoa? Or some of them were? Thank you!
the list is of people i dont know if they were at tocca or not you would have to search each individually, they were all with the 101st 506th though according to their web site, so you would have to look into each one to see if they were at tocca. the link i posted had everyones names and i took the names from the men you posted and thats whats left of all the men who served with the 506th, so the missing mens names must be in that list for what you are looking for
My father, Walter Wentzel, was an original "Toccoa man". I believe that Jerry Wentzel (no relation) was also a Toccoa original.
Hi, Were replacements : Lester Hashey, Hank Zimmerman, Herbert Suerth, Babe Heffron, James Miller, Patrick O'keefe, Antonio Garcia, Ynez Mendoza, Bradford Freeman, Walter Eggert, Frank Soboleski, John Janovec, Norman Neitzke.
Charles E. Rhinehart was an original Toccoa man rather than a replacement, and served all the way through with Easy Company until it was deactivated.
Trying to find out if the Neumann you listed was my grandfather. He was with the 506th PIR during May 23, 1944, until June 4, 1946. He was a PFC and earned the BSM. I do not know exactly which company he was assigned to. His name was Robert Valentine Neumann from New Holstein, WI. Thanks
You may want to try contacting the Easy Company Association at their website. Also, if you don't have his records, you should request them through the NARA. See this thread for help with that. I presume this was your grandfather? So sad that he was struck down at such a young age.
Yes, I have gone to their website and only found a last name, Neumann. He was my grandfather, who died in a car accident on 8 February 1959. I have also submitted documents to attain his military records and so has my aunt. Hopefully, she can get more information as well as awards that he received.
