The newly formed Western Maryland Heritage Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to the education, preservation, and interpretation of our rich American history, is seeking reenactors from Rev.War, French and Indian War,War of 1812, Civil War, WW One and WW Two. The date of this event is May12-13.

We are in the process of building a living history village on a 150 acre farm near Boonsboro, Md. The name of the town will be "Margaretsville" A Living History Village, after Boonesboro's original name. This information has not even been released to the public or press. By asking the reenacting community first, we hope to show our willingness to work with the reenactors from all eras of American History and give them a home to show their merits. Most of us in the WMHF are reenactors also, so we understand. This is our first event and we would like to show the potential of a living history village.

Although we are surrounded by Civil War Battlefields, the organizers do not wish to limit the town to the Civil War but wish to have several annual events ranging from Rev. War to WWII. We would also be open for any suggestions and have many open dates to be filled with living histories. We hope to draw 800-1000 reenactors from every timeline for our first event. The usual amenities are included: firewood, straw, water,etc.. We are using the money raised to pay for the next building to be erected on the site. Plans are in place to have seven to ten buildings by 2002. To receive a Registation packet, Please contact us at 301-241-4707, ‘till 9 p.m. We are only asking for a $5 donation per person to help futher our cause. Please feel free to email me RRichards@CVN.NET.

Registrations must be postmarked by April 15.

I look forward to working with you all to advance this exciting project.
