    My names Mark looking for info on my late grand father got me here, he was 35th Infantry Division 320th Infantry Regimen .D COMPANY 1st Battalion, THEODOR C HOLLAND was called a line Corporal wepon was a 1917 browning water cooled machine gun 45 side arm he left 6 months after the war in the 75th infantry i have alot of his paper work. even combat correspondence news papers from the santa fe 35th infantry news paper from the war , I have his uniform but its not complet they never give him all his medals how do i get these i do have his Army Presidential Unit Citation Ribbon and army campaign ribbon with 5 small bronzs campaign stars on it , Other info im seeking is he got blew up at the end of basic training pre ww2 from a guy digging with a dud bomb or mortar it killed 3 ppl he got steel deep in his right leg calf from the bomb and would not take a dismisal from the army, i cant find any info on this i still have his army crutches from that he passed away in 2000 thanks for any help

    i think i got his army entry papers listed truck driver he did that in the Civilian Conservation Corps in the pre war and explosives he shot coal and stone pre war he was 20 or 21 when he got into the war

    Welcome to the Forums, Mark. You can request replacement medals here. I don't know if you will have much luck trying to find records from a basic training unit. You might want to try newspaper archives from his home town or a town near the camp where he did his training. It's a bit of a long shot, but you never know.
