While not straight WW2 it is pre-war a nice figure of a Seaforth Higlander on service somwhere in the empire. 54mm by Art Girona.
curious and am sure this has been covered. Is there a decent Lancaster kit ? suppose it would be 1/72nd as other scales would be well let's just say too bloody huge !! ugh this medicine makes me Zzzzzzzzzzzz
Stevin no it's the cancer medicine I've been on........real fun trying to see customers and making a complete idiot out of myself. have to take it three times a day.... glad I do not buid models or it would just be a huge glop of glue....hmmmmmmmmm maybe a Sci-Fi piece ?
Lancaster kits are all getting a bit long-in-the-tooth, for example the good ol' Revell 1/72. Best currently out there is the Airfix 2nd casting, available as BI, Dambuster or Grand Slam. Probably best of them all, but currently out of production ( so it's e-bay only, I'm afraid ) is the huge Tamiya 1/48 B1 or BIII Dambuster. Still a great model. Ironically, as these kit castings are all so old, possibly the best Lancaster model currently on the market is the award-winning Corgi die-cast 1/72 ; but I'm not sure which is heavier, the model or the price !
Erich tamiya do have one in 1/48 believe it or not. It isn't bad. It is probably the best kit out there at the mo.
I cannot imagine something so big in my office though it would look lovely for certain.......ok everyone knows what is coming. Who can provide some decent modelling pics of a night raiding Lanc or Hali ?
Randy Lutz must really know his stuff - I drool over this model which has been featured in several magazine articles : - http://features02.kitparade.com/lancasterrl_1.htm
